Research Interests

  • Application of geochemical data from volcanic, metamorphic and mantle rocks to understanding:
    (1) generation of magma at subduction zone and mid-ocean ridges
    (2) melt/fluid transport in and interaction with the upper mantle
    (3) crustal recycling and its influence on the mantle heterogeneity

  • Trace element partitioning between mantle minerals and melt/fluid
  • Analyses of isotopic ratios and major and trace element abundances in volcanic rocks and mantle peridotite
  • Development of analytical technique using SIMS and ICP-MS for trace elements including LILE, REE and HFSE
  • Dynamic and static compression experiments on geological materials to investigate structure and phase transformation in planetary interior
